As a robotics team, we are not only focused on our success in competition, but also want to give back to our community in a variety of ways through service. Look into some opportunities below!
Monthly Outreach
JANUARY
For January's monthly outreach, we are having a Penny Wars competition to donate to the Community Enterprise Foundation, an Australian organization that seeks to end the Australia bush fires. Starting Monday, January 13th, each subteam will be assigned a jug to collect money in. Pennies gain points for your team (1 point per cent), while silver coins and dollar bills detract points -- this is why it's important to put pennies in your team's jar and save the rest for your competitors! The money will be totaled up by [date], and the winners will receive [prize].
Play-Place Autism & Special Needs Center
Play-Place for Autistic Children needs patient, caring, smiling volunteers that love children! Our center is for children and young adults affected by autism and other special needs. This is a community-wide volunteer effort to service the over 8,000 tri-county area families. Choose from a variety of impact projects such as: share your passion for arts & crafts in our Art Studio, guide creative projects in our Lego Room, assist in our Computer Cafe, welcome our families and guests as they arrive or help with the magic of the carousel. Volunteer three to four hours of your time and inspire for a lifetime. Sign up for one shift, multiple shifts or even the same shift each week. We truly value our volunteers for the incredible difference they make in these children's lives! "
