Sub-Teams

During build season, the Steel Armadillos split themselves into four sub-teams. Each sub-team is equally important to the progression of building the robot and keeping the process organized and efficient.

Electronics

The electronics team creates the circuits for the robot a well as wiring it. In addition, they tend to work with programming closely to make sure the robot runs smoothly.

Logistics

The logistics team consists of a small group of students who create and run the website. In addition, the logistics team runs the Twitter,  Instagram, Snapchat and email so that the team and the community can stay updated and connected. During build season, the logistics team takes photographs and videos to document the building of the robot. The logistics team is also the unofficial "team spirit" team that prepares the team for competition with posters, banners, and other enthusiastic elements.

Mechanical

The mechanical team is in charge of building the robot itself. The team uses the designs made from prototyping and CAD to build the shell of the robot that can then be wired and programmed by other sub-teams.

Programming

The programming team is in charge of the brain of the robot. This team works in conjunction with the other subgroups to ensure that the robot performs all the tasks it is built to do. The programmers are not only in charge of making sure the robot follows all controller outputs, but also does well on its own during the autonomous period of the game.
